The UK vending industry generates an extraordinary volume of single-use plastic. Every chocolate bar, every bag of crisps, every bottle of water — wrapped in materials that will outlast all of us. The overwhelming majority of crisp packets are made from multi-layered plastic that is extremely difficult to recycle, even when returned to supermarket collection points.
Meanwhile, packaging innovation has quietly advanced. Paper-based crisp packets, compostable cellulose films, edible coatings, and aluminium alternatives now exist — but they haven't reached vending machines. That's the gap Vivovend exists to close.
Curated, not compromised
We work exclusively with brands who share our commitment to reducing plastic. All products in a Vivovend machine are entirely plastic-free — packaged in compostable cellulose, recyclable paper, or aluminium. Where a fully plastic-free option doesn't yet exist for a category, we don't stock it, and we keep pushing suppliers to do better.
Every product is chosen for what's inside, too. We favour nutritious, high-quality snacks made with real ingredients — the kind of food that complements a professional environment rather than cluttering it with garish branding and empty calories.
